Intercultural Arts Events
Events we facilitate are designed to promote intercultural understanding through community engagement with the arts. We bring together community members, musicians, artists, children, Indigenous cultural advisors and linguists to participate in creative and cultural activities. Projects have creative, cultural and educational dimensions and include activities such as street parades, performances, exhibitions and participative workshops.
We write customised songs for specific events and when appropriate, we work collaboratively with Aboriginal Elders and linguists to incorporate Aboriginal language into songs. We facilitate Deep Listening Circles which make time for people to come together through singing, storytelling and listening respectfully to each other. We facilitate creative commissions in which creative artists and cultural advisors collaborate to develop short productions in theatre, song, music, dance, poetry, film and mixed media.
